Our Customers![]() Animals Our reason for being here! The most important part of the equation involving you, your animal, and your vet. The animal's welfare is our highest priority. We try with care and compassion to prevent disease, cure disease and heal injury. Finally, when we can do no more, we end suffering whilst maintaining dignity. People are the most important tool in achieving this. People who care, are committed, well trained and skillful in the job that they do. The receptionists, nurses and vets are all here to achieve the same end. We invest a lot of time and money in initial training and continuing education, to ensure the highest standards. Medical knowledge is rapidly moving forward. Equipment, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments are continually being made available, often spilling over from human medicine. The end result is that pets are often able to live longer and happier lives. We regard it as a challenge to keep ahead of progress, to achieve as much as we can for your pet. As a benchmark of our success we have achieved Tier 2 Small Animal accreditation by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Quoting directly from the RCVS website at www.rcvs.org.uk 'Now, for the first time, the RCVS can offer reassurance that those practice premises which it accredits as part of the Practice Standards Scheme also meet stringent standards. The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the It offers peace of mind to clients of accredited practices and more informed choice to the animal-owning public. To become accredited, practices volunteer for rigorous inspection every four years and will have met a range of minimum standards including hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, certain types of equipment and cost estimation procedures. They may also be subject to spot-checks between inspections. For peace of mind, people should look for the RCVS accredited practice logo, which indicates that the practice has passed an independent inspection. This means high standards of care for pets and peace of mind for pet owners.' We are also an Approved Training Centre for veterinary nurses. Owners We treat your animal at your request, and with your help. It is therefore vital we can communicate with you, but also that you can communicate with us. You are your animal's voice. You know your animal. We can spot physical changes, and have a range of sophisticated ways of reaching an ultimate diagnosis, but we need you to tell us what is normal for your animal, and what is abnormal. Every animal is a unique individual. We need to give you the information to make the best decision for your animal. This can be at the level of receptionists helping you decide on the best flea treatment, the nurse advising you on feeding or neutering, or the vet discussing potentially life-threatening conditions. Every owner's expectation for their animal is different. Our job is to tell you the options, and where there is more than one potential path, help you choose the right one for your animal. Veterinary surgeries are businesses. We invest a lot of money in the care of your pet, but obviously this has to be paid for. We do need to be transparent and open in the charges for our services. We try and give estimates for any treatment option. Finally we need you to communicate with us. If you don't understand what we are recommending, if you feel the level of care and service we are providing for you and your animal isn't good enough, if your animal's condition changes unexpectedly, we need to know. Then we can do something about it. |
