We are very pleased to be able to welcome Focus Referrals to Croft Veterinary Centre. Focus Referrals specialise in the treatment of eye conditions in small animal patients (dogs, cats and rabbits) and offers specialist veterinary services including referral consultations, BVA/KC/ISDS eye testing (to check dogs used for breeding have healthy eyes and are unlikely to pass on genetic eye conditions to any puppies) and surgery to address a number of ocular conditions including cataracts, entropion, distichiasis, ectopic cilia, cherry eye, corneal ulceration, corneal sequestra, lens luxation and dry eye. The service is run by Mike Rhodes an experienced specialist in veterinary ophthalmology and he will be seeing appointments and operating at our practice on Thursdays.
If your pet is suffering from an eye problem then your own vet may recommend referral to Focus Referrals, or if you are interested in BVA/KC/ISDS eye testing you can now book this direct through the Focus Referrals website.
Mike Rhodes, the founder of Focus Referrals, is a recognised RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology. This means that he has achieved the highest level of recognition of expertise that can be achieved in clinical veterinary work. He has previously worked as a referral veterinary ophthalmologist at Willows Referral Centre for nearly 10 years. Mike is also an appointed eye panelist which means he can issue official BVA/KC/ISDS eye test certificates for the Eye Scheme. In launching Focus Referrals, Mike aims to offer his patients, pet owners and referring vets a personal, high quality referral service within a first opinion clinical setting at more affordable prices. When not at work Mike enjoys spending time with his family – Sophie, William, Phil the cat and his wife Alice (also a vet).
