national microchipping monthJune is once again National Microchipping Month – a chance to get your pets microchipped at a reduced price and a good time to check your contact details are up to date if your pets have already been chipped.

From April 2016 it will be compulsory for all dogs to be microchipped and there are many other benefits of microchipping including:

– Pets can be quickly re-united with their owners if they become lost.

– A microchip is one of the requirements for a Pet Passport allowing your pet to join you on your holidays.

– A microchip can be used with special cat-flaps to make sure only your cats can enter the house and avoid unwanted feline houseguests.

– At Croft Veterinary Centre we use Biotherm identichips which additionally provide a non-invasive way to check your pets temperature and have an anti-migration coating so they’re less likely to move from the implant site.

Throughout June we are offering microchipping at the reduced price of £19.95

(usually £24.99)

If your pet is already microchipped please ensure your contact details are up to date with the relevant database. We can put you in touch with the relevant database if you’re unsure who to call. Please note it is a legal requirement, under the Control of Dogs Order 1992, that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with name and address of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag. Your telephone number is optional (but advisable). This applies even if a dog is microchipped.
