The 7th-14th September is Puppy Awareness Week (PAW), an annual event organized by the Kennel Club to promote happy healthy puppies. As well as providing advice on how to source a healthy puppy PAW also aims to help stop puppy farming where puppies are bred intensively without proper attention to the health and welfare of the dogs concerned. Recent research suggests one in five pups bought online or in pet shops need long-term veterinary care or die before six months old.
The Do’s and Don’ts of choosing and buying a puppy can be found here.
