Payment and insurance options
Fees and payment
Payment is required at the time of treatment or on collection of your pet after hospitalisation. We will happily provide a written estimate of the probable costs of the cause of treatment, but please bear in mind that any estimate given can only be approximate – often a pet’s illness will not follow a conventional course. In the case of pet insurance claims please be aware that it is your responsibility to settle your account and then reclaim the fees from your insurance company. To help this process run smoothly we have produced a Guide to Insurance Claims which can be accessed here.
If, for any reason, you are concerned about proposed costs of treatment or are unable to settle your account as specified we ask you to discuss the matter as soon as possible with a member of staff.
For further information please read our Terms and Conditions.
We strongly recommend that all pet owners consider pet insurance. It can provide for the unexpected expense, such as a road traffic accident or poisoning, as well as help out with the financial demands of long term conditions, such as some skin diseases and heart problems.
You may be surprised to hear that you are more likely to claim on your pet insurance than your car or household policies (Allianz Insurance plc). In fact, in our experience if you don’t need to claim on your pet insurance you really are very lucky indeed! It’s important to be aware that not all pet insurance is the same. Some policies limit the amount of time or money that you can claim for so don’t just shop around on price alone.
Finding your way through the small print can be confusing we’ve put together a we’ve put together a document covering the basics of picking a policy suitable to your needs here, and you can access the Association of British Insurers Guide to Pet Insurance here.
